358 Fence Inspection Checklist

A practical pre-shipment review guide for project procurement and supplier discussions.

Discuss your specification

Confirm the agreed specification first

Use the purchase order, approved drawing and signed sample as the acceptance reference. The values below describe Forge-Fence's referenced 358 configuration; other project specifications must be agreed in writing.

Mesh aperture

12.7 × 76.2 mm, narrow openings arranged vertically. Verify the measurement convention on the approved drawing.

Wire diameter

4 mm nominal. Agree the permitted manufacturing tolerance before production.

Posts and finish

80 × 80 mm posts and hot-dip galvanized finish for the referenced configuration. Confirm wall thickness, coating standard and requirements separately.

Pre-shipment review points

These are suggested inspection items, not a claim that a specific shipment has been tested or certified.

  1. Documents: confirm approved drawings, order quantities, panel sizes, post details and accessory schedule.
  2. Mesh geometry: check aperture orientation and spacing, panel squareness, weld condition and cut-edge finish.
  3. Dimensions: sample-check panel width and height, wire diameter, post section and fixing-hole positions against the agreed tolerances.
  4. Surface finish: visually review coating coverage and handling damage; arrange coating-thickness testing if specified in the contract.
  5. Fittings: count clamps, bolts, anti-tamper fixings, caps and any specified installation accessories.
  6. Packing: verify bundle identification, protection between panels, packing list and loading sequence.
  7. Release records: request dated inspection photographs and agreed test or inspection reports before shipment approval.

Important: acceptance limits, sampling frequency and any third-party inspection must be defined in the order. No specific certification is implied by this checklist.
